Conclusão
Por essas razões, as moedas virtuais, em contraste com os sistemas de pagamento tradicionais, apresentam um risco aos seus usuários justamente por falta de regulamentação. A incerteza legal em torno das criptomoedas pode constituir um desafio para as autoridades públicas, pois este meio pode tornar-se objeto de criminosos, fraudadores e lavadores de dinheiro durante a realização de suas atividades ilícitas.
Além disso, o uso da moeda virtual cresce a cada dia, incidentes envolvendo a moeda atraem a atenção da mídia e que pode gerar impactos negativos no desenvolvimento ou evolução da moeda. Sua reputação, caso fosse regulada pelos bancos centrais, estariam consubstanciadas como um trabalho mal feito e cuja consequência imediata seria a sua não aceitação por outros mercados.
Contudo, deve-se considerar o aumento do uso da internet que hoje alcança quase 35% da população mundial. O uso da tecnologia para a feitura de compras na internet somente é facilitado com o uso das moedas virtuais. Nenhum negócio é promissor se não se tem várias ferramentas que ajudem o negócio a alavancar. No entanto, devem ser tomadas cautelas, porque a falta de fiscalização pode gerar riscos para as comunidades que aceitam as criptomoedas tornando-se vítimas de sequestradores, hackers e criminosos do colarinho branco que podem usar a moeda virtual para lavar dinheiro fruto de seus crimes.
Nos dias atuais, as moedas virtuais não apresentam muitos riscos para a economia real. A economia virtual é muito pequena, mas, num futuro próximo, poderá gerar incertezas quanto ao seu uso indiscriminado, o que favorece a criação de leis e regulamentos para impor o uso adequado da moeda para não gerar crises econômicas.
No Brasil, já existem projetos de leis tramitando no Congresso Nacional que visam a extirpar o papel-moeda e implantar o uso das moedas virtuais sob a justificativa do que se disse anteriormente, de maneira invertida: acabar-se-ía com a evasão de divisas, sonegação fiscal, lavagem de dinheiro, tráfico de drogas e outros crimes, sob a alegação de que o dinheiro virtual é mais facilmente rastreável. O que tecnicamente é improvável, porque não existe uma entidade centralizada (um computador servidor) que controle o fluxo cambial da moeda virtual.
