Impunity in Brazil: two facets.

1 - Special Stands

We need  to put limits on  exclusive procedural benefits as known foro privilegiado or  so -called Special stands .

Impunity is  the cause and consequency  of bad government, eroding confidence in the justice system.

Today Brazil has historic opportunity starting to get away with the corruption in politics, even though they are rarely prosecuted.

As we Know, officials with special standing must be judged in courts that lengthy procedural privileges for defendants., that  almost never ended up with a conviction. As a matter of fact, they use procedural manoeuvring until their trials reach the statute of limitations. Not to mention the fact that charges levied against defendants used to be expired before the final trials.

Brazilians always  tend to pay less attention to impunity, freedom from punishment for the powerful.So they say :I’m not even going to follow the 'news' about the congressional inquiry. Nothing will come of it anyway.That is terrible and shows that the chips are down for us.

The result of this Chaos is an widespread impunity.I sincery hope that Supreme Court find a way to fix the situation. While there’s life, there’s hope.That can  contaminate the Brazil’s image internationally.

2 - Weak Institutions

Another side of corruption refers to the growing incentive given by fragile laws and institutions. The situation is so absurd that  citizens say  that corruption pays dividends.

Recently , took place in Brazil a plea bargain deals of JBS's controllers, called Joesly Batista. Batista later signed a plea agreement with prosecutors in which he acknowledged distributing payments to some 2,000 politicians over the last 10 years.Most Brazilians wants  he should go prision, but, on the contrary, they are free, at least, for a while.

And, on top of that, after  the grant of freedom, JBS, got a small fortune in 24 hours after having bought US dollars before Batista’s bombshell plea bargain went public and laudering money
